Keeping My Fingers Crossed....

I am trying out for a spot on the Croppin Paradise Design Team. The deadline to apply was over the weekend, so now it's just a waiting game to see who is chosen.

In addition to the Design Team Applicant requirements, they have also posted a list of challenges to complete before the winners are announced. It's not mandatory but those who complete the challenges are eligible for prizes.

Here is the layout that I created for Challenge #4. This challenge required that we create a layout based upon the sketch that they had provided. I really enjoyed working on this layout. I tried a few techniques that I don't usually do such as distressing the heck out of some of the paper. I also dusted off my sewing machine and sewed some haphazhard stitch lines along the edges of some of the papers. I really like how it turned out.

So, who is Bitsy anyway?

"Bitsy" was the name of my nephew Jordan's imaginary friend. "Bitsy" was responsible for all the "bad" things that Jordan did. We believe that Bitsy got his name from Itsy Bitsy Spider, one of Jordan's favorite songs. Apparently Bitsy became lonely after awhile and he was joined by "Ashley", another imaginary friend.

Things got really strange once Jordan's little sister, Alexis, got big enough to have an imaginary friend and she was introduced to Bitsy and Ashley. Together, all four of them would go on adventures and of course, Bitsy was always the troublemaker in the group.

Bitsy and Ashley have since gone off on adventures of their own, but Jordan (now 11) and Alexis (now 10) now have a two year old sister, Kori and an 8 month old brother, Hunter. It is only a matter of time before we see whether Bitsy and Ashley return home......

Welcome!

Welcome to my Blog! I have entered a new stage in my life - I am now brave enough to start my own blog. I've been following blogs for some time now and I've finally decided to jump into it myself. This blog will be a little of this, and a little of that - pieces of me, my life, my art. I'm sure that this blog will evolve as I become more familiar with this "new world" and as I discover how I fit into it.
